CHARITIES AND COMMUNITY SERICES ARE SUPPORTED BY CONTAINER DEPOSIT LEGISLATION
Scout Groups, Sporting Clubs, Schools and other community groups are dependent on container deposit legislation for funding income.
Hundreds of thousands of dollars are returned to the community through these services and as a result of this funding, many thousands of voluntary hours of community service are created, thus multiplying the value.
These funds channelled back through the community would obviously have to be replaced through another source should the container deposit legilsation advantage be removed.
Other organisations which benefit
from Container Deposit Legislation are those wthin the hospitality industry
and the organisers of major outdoor events. A huge infrastructure is in place
whereby a pick up and collection system is provided compared to their intersate
couterparts who are required to pay for these services.
